Recipes for Chic and Professional Presentaion.

Hallo Chic Readers! it's been a while since my last post. if you noticed, i just post my blog once a month whereas i have lots of draft to post.

This is my first post since i changed my blog name from Adayinflatlay to Adayincasualchic. Why i changed it? hmmm lots of consideration actually, but i just don't feel to use that name anymore since i never do any flatlay anymore. i just found out that i prefer to wear the clothes rather that arrange it for square format photo in pleasant color arrangement and clear background, simply i just love to wear mix and match outfit and put maaa face inside the picture LOL!

okay back to our main topic, i really want to share about this since a month ago i  added every points in my phone every time i think about this post. so lets start:

1.  Design Your Slide
Most of the time we do presentation with Power Point, it is a complete package actually. it has design, graph and hyperlink plus it is most likely has been installed in our computer or laptop so that we don't have to download or pay for additional package. regarding design, i did not use power point design in which provided inside instead i download the template. you can google for it and many free designs which more attractive and more practical. you can simply choose which design suits your coming presentation usually the website divide it into certain criteria for instance "modern", "professional", "basic", and "business", i love something colorful. when i want to start making my slides, i wanted it looks professional and also creative at same way and i wanna people see it as "totally my work". my recipe is to find any template that basic color is white yes should be white. why? because combining other color with white is still pleasant, not chaotic and prepossess. never use more than 3 color in one slide unless you have color picture added, this is another condition. In addition, be consistent with your font type and size.
Remember : choose white as your basic color, black as your font color and not adding more than 3 colors at same slide. example white and black are excluded: blue, green, pink are the color design of your slides.
Dont use red font just don't and never. Try to avoid it in anyway choose another color like pink or orange.

2. Put Your Identity
I always put my university logo in my first slide and above the tittle of my presentation to make this looks more professional and as a prove that you're proud to be a part of that institution or organization. if your still in high school yup! can simply put your school logo or put "Tut Wuri Handayani" logo. if you are working so you can put your company logo and if this partnership project put them together alongside as a symbol that this project is based on collaborations. your identity such as name, student number and faculty is mandatory! don't forget to put this on the first slide together with the tittle.

3. Describe Your Presentation Outline
Divided your presentation into certain sections. for thesis or FYP (final year project) divide it into introduction, literature review, methodology, result, conclusion, references and attachment (if you have). This is for briefly telling them that your presentation will capture all these so that they will know the time estimation and guessing your slides. tips: attachment is just included inside the slide don't present it in case it is being asked.

4. Be Precise
Make sure everything you put into slides are just the point and not the whole sentences. don't simply just copy and paste from your actual work. eventually, its not presentation, just you reading your dull paragraph. Rephrase might help you to shorten the point, put something necessary and make sure it meets the point. remember it is power point not power paragraph.

5. Literature Review (tinjauan pustaka)
This section will have possibility to take many slides if you cant summarize. my suggestion is try make a table. again divided into your independent variable and dependent variable: i have 3 major independent variables and one outcome. Hence, i built 4 tables for my literature review. don't include all, just the closest one with your current project. remember our examiner already read and check all our work so for this section just briefly don't too extend because you have to be in-depth on your result and discussions part. below is an example:

6. Don’t Put Any GIF
Remember in professional way we don't put GIF or any cartoon thingy on our slides unless it's part of your project for instance your project is about design graphic which needs that GIF or cartoon to support your work so you might be need to sounding it out.

7. Put Tittle in Every Slide
Don't forget your title in every slide this is so important so that they know what topic are you talking in case they are late for your presentation or they lose focus for a while. Moreover, some topic might need two slides just simply put Cont as shorten word of continuous or you can put same title as your previous slides.

8. Ask Your Peer about Your Slides
Asking suggestion and recommendation from friends are needed to get some review to improve your slides. asking from peer who had done their presentation might be so helpful because they already passed it so that they might know some extend and tips how to deal with your nervous and improvise your slides. I asked from my collages about possible question during viva and mocked my presentation in front of them. i did also ask them to check any spelling error in case i missed it.

9. Mock in front of Your Supervisor (pra-sidang depan pembimbing)
I did this 5 days before my final thesis defense. i presented in front of my supervisor and my co-supervisor. it is really helped me to feel less nervous. this is really the important part of practicing because your supervisor are also other students's examiner so they know what is the weakness inside your slide or your presentation. based on my experience, i got also some possible question that most probably will be asked during viva voce. Therefore, you can prepare for the most correct and scientific answer. that's why this is will calm you little bit from your overthinking.

10. Bring Notes.
This might be not applicable for some presentation but for final defense yes it might be helpful. what i did was i cut my printed slides into small pieces one slide one piece and i put some additional notes on it so that in case i forget what to say i can simply review it. i did not bring all notes for all slides, just 5 notes because from my slides there were five slides which need some extend explanation.

11. Have Back Up for Your Slides
During my viva, my slides cant be opened using my university computer luckily i had saved it in PDF format so that i presented using PDF format instead. always back up your files in email and pen-drive. don't simply trust your pen drive we don't know any sh*t could happen during that day so be prepared. send your slides to your own email and save it in different format i.e: PDF and power point format.

12. Come Early
Yes this is the most ultimate tips because in the end everything will be screwed up if you are late. my mom once told me because i did MC as well in the past. before you present come early and walk around the room. let your body adapt with the condition and try to smell the room and stand in front of that empty chair, smile and move your body as your pretended did the presentation.

additional tips: i always recite Holy Quran before doing my presentation and i love to recite Sura Al-Waqiah.
before Viva i did listening to a song "Rise" from Jonas Blue and Jack&Jack it really helps to boost my energy and confidence.

here my picture during my viva presentation i slept during my presentation guys 😆😐
taken by my lovey supervisor

i totally woke up after my viva had finished haha

That's all tips for chic and professional slide presentation hope it helps you for your coming or future presentation.thank you for reading, looking forward for your comment or feedback.

Warm regards

Kuala Lumpur: Festival, Street Photography and OOTD

Effortless Style With Paper Bag Waist Pants

Hi Chic Readers! so last week i went to IKEA Malaysia for eating that famous cone  ice cream and i just discovered that they changed the taste into soy milk so that it’s vegan friendly and dairy free. well i like soy milk and now i’m changing my eating preferences to plant based thingy and it’s such a great news. meanwhile, Huseyn kept complaining about that ice cream and said it’s just too healthy for him (need to convince him harder about health food).
Anyway, how often do you buy your clothes? are you a person who easily triggered by sale? i was like that but now i change my perception towards clothes investment. i don’t buy clothes that much even it’s written as “big deals” because now i focus on buying clothes which has versatile look. i would suggest you to invest on this loose paper bag pants. it’s good for casual and formal look. i have three colour for this paper bag pants, they’re: black, cream and white. usually brands such as H&M, Something Borrowed you …

Hi Chic Readers!

Welcome November! Have you planned your end year vacation yet? If haven't you should do it now because it might be quite expensive if you order flight ticket in December but make sure you do it after reading this post xoxo. Me probably will not go anywhere due to my budget and i need to save more since i have to move for a new apartment. But no worries living in the centre of Kuala Lumpur would make me feel like I'm on holiday everyday because i love city view.
Alright, based on calendar now we are in rainy season. It starts since mid October until the end of March. This prediction only applicable in south east Asia region. When it comes to cooler season, this is the right time for us as jacket lovers to pull off our jacket collection for our daily style and outfit.
